What does REAL WRITERS offer?

Our appraisal service is available to anyone. Send us your manuscript and we will provide detailed feedback - on anything from a haiku to a family saga.

We welcome approaches from writers at any level of experience, though our system may prove more beneficial when you have progressed beyond the exercise-led absolute beginner stage and have begun to originate your own work.

Many clients take advantage of one of our one-off package deals (see Joining for details) to seek our help with a single piece of work.

Other people join us on an ongoing basis, and submit regular assignments over an extended period of time. Clients who choose this route and opt to focus on a single writing form will be allocated a regular tutor. Alternatively, if you wish to submit work in a variety of different genres, each individual assignment will be dealt with by the tutor best qualified for the task.

For a one-off, no-strings appraisal, send us the piece of work, the appropriate fee and a stamped addressed return envelope - or give us a call or drop us an e-mail to discuss your needs.

If you opt to join us as a regular client, we will:

• Allocate a tutor appropriate for your needs. We place short story clients with editors or published writers of short stories, would-be journalists with a professional freelance journalist, aspiring dramatists with an established playwright, and so on

• Help you decide whether you are self-disciplined enough to keep up a steady stream of work, or if a regular personal deadline, usually monthly though everything is negotiable, would help to motivate you.

REAL WRITERS aims to be flexible: we adjust to your writing requirements, and aim to meet individual needs as closely as possible.
